Ice Time in Rockport

By The Editors

On Lily Pond in Rockport, Maine, a Penobscot Bay Ice Company worker holds a “fork bar” and stands on a large piece of ice being pulled toward the channel and conveyor by a man and two boys with long ice hooks. The conveyor and ice house are visible in the background. Penobscot Bay Ice Company was established in 1946 by E. Maynard Graffam Sr. and partners to deliver ice to Rockport residents.
